TAZ — Privacy Policy
TAZ is a software application distributed by its developer through Discord. We are committed to protecting users' privacy and being transparent about the technical information collected when using TAZ.
By launching or using TAZ, users acknowledge that they have been informed of this Privacy Policy and that their use of the application is subject to the applicable terms and conditions. Where applicable law requires explicit consent for specific data processing activities, such consent will be requested separately.
1. Information Collected
When you launch or use TAZ, the application may collect and process the following technical information:
- IP Address: Your IP address may be collected and visible to the developer. It may be used for authentication, security, license management, fraud detection, and abuse prevention.
- Hardware Identifier (HWID): TAZ collects a hardware identifier for authentication and license verification. The HWID is encrypted before being stored or processed by the authentication system. The developer does not have access to the original, unencrypted HWID through the system, provided the encryption and system architecture operate as intended.
- Discord User ID: Your Discord account ID may be collected to associate your account with your TAZ license, verify access, and manage authentication.
- Minecraft UUID: Your Minecraft account UUID may be collected to associate your Minecraft account with your license, where applicable, and verify account eligibility.
- Executable File Path: The local file path from which the TAZ executable is launched may be collected for technical diagnostics, security monitoring, or abuse prevention.
- PC Name: Your computer's name may be collected for device identification, authentication support, security monitoring, and license management.
- License Information: Information associated with your license, including its validity and status, may be processed to verify access and prevent unauthorized use.
TAZ collects this information for the purposes described in this policy. The exact information collected may depend on the features you use and the configuration of the application.
2. How Information Is Used
The information collected may be used to:
- Verify software licenses and authenticate users.
- Associate licenses with the relevant Discord or Minecraft accounts.
- Identify devices and support legitimate license management.
- Detect unauthorized account sharing, license abuse, fraud, or other abusive activity.
- Investigate security incidents and protect the application against unauthorized access.
- Diagnose technical issues and maintain the proper functioning of TAZ.
3. Information Sharing
The developer does not sell users' personal information.
Technical information may be processed by third-party service providers where necessary to operate the authentication system, manage licenses, host infrastructure, or provide essential services. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.
Access to collected information is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
4. Data Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect collected information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
The HWID is encrypted within the authentication system. However, encryption does not automatically make information anonymous, and no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Information may be retained for as long as necessary to provide authentication, manage licenses, prevent abuse, resolve security incidents, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users may contact the developer through the official TAZ Discord server to request access to their personal data, request corrections, or request deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations and legitimate grounds for retention.
Where applicable data protection laws provide additional rights, users may exercise those rights through the available contact channel.
6. Third-Party Services
TAZ may rely on third-party infrastructure for authentication, licensing, hosting, or other essential services. These providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable contractual obligations.
Users should consult the relevant providers' privacy policies where appropriate.
7. User Acknowledgment
By launching or using TAZ, users acknowledge that they have been informed of the information collection practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Use of TAZ is subject to the applicable terms and conditions. Where a particular processing activity requires consent under applicable law, launching the executable alone does not replace the requirement to obtain that consent separately.
Users who do not wish to have their information processed for purposes that are necessary to operate TAZ should refrain from using the application.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when necessary. Changes will be communicated through the official TAZ Discord server. The updated version will include a revised date.
9. Contact
For questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or personal data, please contact the developer through the official TAZ Discord server.
